Festival of Dangerous Ideas (FODI) is Australia’s original disruptive festival. It’s a platform for provocative art, experiences and ideas.
FODI presents a lineup of international and local thought leaders and culture creators, inviting us all to immerse ourselves in ideas and conversations that encourage debate and critical thinking.
FODI invites people to interrogate the world around them, to be curious and to go deeper – beyond the hype and the headlines.

FODI24 took place on August 24-25, 2024 at Carriageworks Sydney, there were a few satellite events including The Generation Gulf at UNSW Sydney and Stacks of Danger tours at The State Library NSW.
Where possible, FODI records sessions for archival purposes.
Many sessions from previous years are available via Festival of Dangerous Ideas podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as well as this website’s On Demand section.

Offering a haven for exploration and a harbour for the curious, FODI24’s theme ‘Sanctuary’ invites audiences to engage with the ideas behind the headlines of the 24-hour news cycle. It provides a space to spend time with international experts and agenda-setting changemakers, to better understand what is driving change in the world and society for better or worse. Sessions from the Festival archive are available via Spotify, Apple podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Select sessions are available via the On Demand section of our website and a selection of video conversations and video highlights are shared on the Festival of Dangerous Ideas YouTube channel. A new season of the FODI podcast will drop in October 2024.
