FAREWELL TOUR
Dear would-be-audience,
It is with sincere regret that we cannot go ahead with Sunday’s performance. This is entirely unexpected and cancelling is profoundly sad for Chanelle and I.‘Farewell Tour’ confronts living with a chronically terminal cancer. Psych rock music acts as both catharsis and swan song. Being unable to play on this occasion, for medical reasons, is a reminder of fragility; the need to take time to care for loved ones, those vulnerable, and importantly, of yourself.

Joe Wilson and Chanelle Collier
Joe Wilson and Chanelle Collier are artists based in Sydney. They share a conceptual practice making artwork using textiles and sound. They create audio-visual worlds for intimate experiences, wielding personal emotions of love and friendship, sincerity, and grief. Recently performed at Phoenix Central Park; participating artists, Beechworth Biennale; recording at 64 Sound and performing at Archival, Los Angeles; Make Good Festival, Bundanon Museum; presenting at MONA, Sex and Death Day Club for Dark Mofo; and live at Wollongong Art Gallery. Wilson and Collier have collaborated at Higher Ground Studio since 2015. They have been recognised through commissions, grants, residencies, and fellowships awarded including: Cité Internationale des Arts, France, 2018 & 2019; Create NSW 2018, 2021 & 2022; Phoenix Central Park, 2021; The Renshaws Retreat 2022; Artspace Emerging Visual Arts Fellowship Finalists 2022; Vermont Studio Center, USA, 2022; Bundanon Trust, 2022, 2023 Artist in Residence, & performance in 2024.
Sarah Barry
Sarah Barry (they/she) is a professional tarot reader, artist, mortality doula and funeral celebrant. With deep listening and life-connecting storytelling being part of their everyday experience, it is an honour for them to introduce Farewell Tour at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.
