What happens when we move beyond debate, beyond difference and simply sing together?
Created with Creativity Australia’s With One Voice community choir program, this free festival pop-in invites audiences into a shared moment of revelation and human connection. Inspired by Rumi’s poem Out Beyond Ideas of Wrongdoing and Rightdoing, the session offers a special space to gather, unite, lift our voices and experience the force of singing and breathing together as one.
The mission of With One Voice is simple and urgent: to combat the loneliness and mental health epidemic in Australia through the power of community and song.

Creativity Australia & With One Voice Choirs
Creativity Australia’s aim is to reduce the mental health impacts of loneliness and isolation through the benefits of group singing. We believe that singing together reconnects us to ourselves and each other.
With One Voice is a national movement of inclusive choirs which brings communities together to experience joy and connection. People from all walks of life are welcomed to our non-auditioned choirs where we gather each week, building friendships through song. Our choirs help build joyful, supportive, welcoming communities where everyone can belong.

Creativity Australia was founded in 2008 by award-winning social entrepreneur and soprano Tania de Jong. Tania’s TED talk, How Singing Together Changes The Brain, tells the inspiring story of how singing together can change the world.
Elizabeth Lecoanet
Elizabeth Lecoanet, Liz, is an international classical and contemporary singer, presenter, choral conductor, music theatre director, researcher, and co-founder of Singing for Health in Australia.
With over 30 years’ experience working with singers and “non-singers” across diverse cultural, ages, abilities and socio-economic backgrounds. She has also worked with patients with sound for pain relief, and relaxation, in a clinical situation in Beth Israel Hospital in NYC. She has sung with the English National Opera, had her own Broadway Show and directed musicals in France (including the first all French production of Les Miserables).
Recognised as a Hidden Hero of Sydney by Lord Mayor Clover Moore (City of Sydney) for bridging social capital with her then choir, Sydney Sings (now With One Voice Sydney), Liz was also featured in international award winning SBS documentary Sing Your Little Heart Out and has featured many times on ABC and Channel 7.
A Master of Voice herself, across genres, she has presented on vocal techniques to industry professionals internationally. She is passionate about making singing accessible to everyone (especially those who “don’t sing”) as a tool for health, wellbeing and social inclusion. She also coaches professionals working in the Sydney, Broadway and West End music theatre scene today. Since 2017, Liz is the first choral conductor employed by NSW Health to lead weekly workplace Singing for Health for the staff at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Hospital, and has also facilitated singing in a corporate setting.
Currently with 4 choirs and a full singing studio, Liz is working closely with the medical field and regularly presents at national and international medical conferences and is pioneering Singing for Health through social prescription, with already 30+ years of experience working in singing and health combined.
Liz has worked with Creativity Australia for over 15 years, and currently leads the With One Voice Chatswood choir.
